Message from the Chair

The Department of Clinical & Chemical Pathology is committed to three equally valued and interrelated missions: delivering quality Laboratory services, Teaching & Training Laboratory professionals in accordance with highest professional standards, and generating knowledge from Research that will alleviate human suffering through the early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease. We hope to achieve our missions while conducting ourselves and our business as professionals and with respect to our patients and colleagues.

The Department has 2 Main Labs at Al-Manial Hospital and a Lab. in each of the following Hospitals; the Specialized Hospital (4th Floor),  the  Internal Medicine Hospital, the Pediatric Japanese Hospital , the Pediatric Abou Elrish Hospital, King Fahd Hospital, the French Hospital  in addition to Emergency Labs that offer the Lab services during the evening and night shifts. 2 new labs will be opening soon; the ER Hospital Lab and the Maternity Hospital Lab.

The Department is also responsible for the Technical supervision of the Blood Bank.  We currently have 191 Faculty, 49 Specialists, 44 Residents and 616 employees. The Department is at an early stage of its planned incremental growth and we look forward to further progress. We hope that in collaboration with our colleagues in the Faculty and Hospital we can upgrade our research, teaching and clinical enterprise in a fashion that melds with the programmatic directions of the University as a whole.
